Unmissable Dining Experiences in Notting Hill

Notting Hill is famous for many things, and its dining scene is certainly one of them. From cosy, intimate spots with open kitchens to lively, buzzy eateries perfect for sharing plates, the neighbourhood offers a variety of atmospheres and flavours to suit every taste. Whether you’re a local or visiting Notting Hill and are not sure where to enjoy an evening of dining and socialising then we’ve put together a list of our personal favourites for you.

The Fat Badger

The Fat Badger on Golborne Road, is a cosy pub-restaurant with a relaxed, inviting atmosphere. Upstairs, an open kitchen and counter seating offer a more personal dining experience, where chefs create dishes inspired by the seasons and the freshest local ingredients. Many of the vegetables are sourced from their own Cotswolds market garden, and the meat comes from farms in the Lake District. Every dish feels thoughtful, seasonal, and full of flavour.

Permit Room

Situated on Portobello Road, Permit Room by Dishoom brings a Bombay-inspired all-day bar and café vibe to Notting Hill, blending laid-back hospitality with creative food and drink. Spread across a converted Victorian corner building, the ground floor serves as a breezy breakfast and lunch spot, while the first floor offers a dining room for evening plates and cocktails. The menu features everything from comforting chai, naan rolls, and crispy spinach chaat to more substantial shared dishes and curries, all delivered with Dishoom’s signature flair.

Dorian

Dorian on Talbot Road, is a stylish bistro that blends relaxed neighbourhood vibes with refined, seasonal cuisine. Inside, the open kitchen and sleek marble tables create an intimate atmosphere where diners can watch the chefs at work. The menu focuses on the freshest British ingredients, from small plates like potato rösti to generous sharing options such as wood‑fired steaks or seafood. Dorian offers a memorable dinner experience that feels both sophisticated and welcoming.

Canteen

Canteen on Portobello Road, brings relaxed, buzzy Italian dining to the heart of Notting Hill. The interior pairs minimalist design with warm touches and an open kitchen that lets you watch the chefs at work. The menu changes with the seasons, offering handmade pasta, rich ragùs, wood‑fired pizzas and other thoughtfully crafted dishes guided by the freshest ingredients. With its walk‑in‑only policy, informal vibe and welcoming energy, Canteen feels like the kind of place for a spontaneous dinner out.

Gold

Located on Portobello Road, Gold is a four‑storey restaurant and late‑night bar that offers a relaxed yet stylish dinner experience. Inside you’ll find a ground‑floor bar and open kitchen, with a leafy garden‑room under a retractable glass roof, a bright, airy space. The kitchen emphasises seasonal, produce‑led dishes cooked over wood ovens and open flame: think charred vegetables, fire‑roasted seafood or hearty mains perfect for sharing. The vibe is social with generous plates meant for sharing, natural wines and creative cocktails.

Whether you’re a local or just visiting, Notting Hill’s dining scene offers something for every mood and occasion, from relaxed, casual spots to stylish, refined restaurants. So next time you’re planning an evening out, think more of Notting Hill than just colourful houses and busy markets.
